An assembly press from our in-house tool shop: less strain, more reliable assembly

Assembly press with an electronic product in the fixture, Phonotronica in-house tool shop

In high-volume production, repetitive movements affect operator workload, assembly repeatability and the ability to meet production schedules.

Our engineering team designed a dedicated assembly press for a customer’s electronic product. Built in our in-house tool shop, the press handles connector insertion on both sides of the product and the fitting of a plastic housing, reducing the manual force required.

The operator positions the parts in the fixture. The cycle starts once the operator’s hands are clear of the working area and all safety conditions have been met. Safety sensors monitor access to the pressing area. No separate start button needs to be pressed, eliminating an additional movement in each cycle.

The solution improves workstation ergonomics and reduces physical strain without compromising safety. The controlled assembly process reduces the risk of defects and contributes to the reliability of the finished product.

Our in-house tool shop allows us to tailor equipment to the specific task and the people performing it. This supports a more stable process and more predictable fulfilment of customer orders.
